Any nominative document with a prior date: bills, medical records, bank statements, NGO records...

No departures from Spain during the 5 months before application.

Adults only. Minors have separate procedures.

In Spain and countries of residence in the last 5 years.

Passport or travel document
Valid or expired. Registration certificate or recognized travel document also accepted.

Except arraigos submitted before the decree came into force.

If you applied for asylum before 01/01/2026, you can apply for regularization without withdrawing your asylum claim. Use form EX-31.

Which form: EX-31 or EX-32?
EX-31 if you applied for asylum before 01/01/2026. EX-32 if irregular situation and arrived before 01/01/2026 without applying for asylum. When in doubt call 060.
Can I use an expired passport?
Yes, explicitly. RD 316/2026 accepts valid or expired passports.
Can I work while waiting for the decision?
Yes. The work authorization is valid from the moment you register your application.
What documents prove my 5-month stay?
Any nominative document with a date: utility bills, medical records, bank statements, transport passes, rental contracts, payslips, NGO records...
Is municipal registration required?
No. It can be used as one of several proof documents, but is not mandatory.
Does this cover family members?
Yes, you can apply jointly with a partner and first-degree relatives.
How long does the permit last?
1 year, renewable. Valid for work in any sector across Spain.
